Perhaps this bottle is the one most worthy of the name "Night Emperor." The alcohol content surprisingly exceeds 20%. This is a bottle of "eccentric specifications," crafted specifically to push the very limits of what a Junmai sake can be.
The label takes inspiration from Makie (traditional lacquerware). Using the hemp leaf pattern (Asa-no-ha) as a base, it captures the flickering city lights in the darkness through an irregular rhythmic layout—a glamorous and mysterious aesthetic of shimmering gold against jet black.
Upon the first sip, a dense, honey-like sweetness meets a lightly rising, refreshing acidity. Despite its heavy-weight profile, it is never cloying, leaving a mellow resonance that defies the expectations of high-alcohol spirits. It overturns the stereotype that "high alcohol equals dry," offering a gentle, sweet finish.
