Mutemuka (無手無冠)

Founded in 1893 along the upper reaches of the Shimanto River, Kochi’s "last pristine stream," Mutemuka Shuzo lives by its name—meaning "unadorned and focused purely on quality." The distillery is nationally renowned for its flagship chestnut shochu, "Dabada Hiburi." Crafted with 50% premium local chestnuts, it offers an exceptional richness and natural sweetness. Beyond shochu, they produce pure-rice sake (Junmai) that captures the unadulterated essence of the land. By working closely with local farmers, Mutemuka continues to showcase the bountiful nature and authentic spirit of the Shimanto region in every bottle.
