Bungo Meijyo (formerly Kariu Brewery), founded in 1910 in Oita, preserves local traditions while innovating with shochu production since 1984. Renamed in 2001, this family-owned brewery crafts sake and shochu using local ingredients, continuing to uphold the rich brewing heritage of the Bungo region.
