About The Brewery
Nakamurashuzoujo (中村酒造場)
Founded in 1888 at the foot of the Kirishima Mountains, Nakamura Shuzoujo boasts a legacy of over 130 years. Their hallmark is the artisanal use of a rare, historic "stone warehouse" for handmade koji and traditional "clay pots" used since the Meiji era. Flagship brands like "Nakamura" and "Gyokuro" are crafted with pure Kirishima spring water and premium local sweet potatoes. Prioritizing quality over efficiency, the distillery focuses on the natural power of microorganisms to create a robust umami profile with an elegant, lingering finish—a true testament to their master craftsmanship.
