About The Brewery

Tenryohai (天領盃酒造)

Tenryobai Brewery is nestled on Niigata’s Sado Island—a sanctuary for the "Toki" (Crested Ibis) and the only island in Japan to implement a comprehensive "50% Reduction in Pesticides and Chemical Fertilizers" across its entire agricultural landscape. Deeply committed to a philosophy of coexistence with the environment, Tenryobai sources premium sake rice meticulously cultivated by Sado’s farmers. The brewing process utilizes pristine, mineral-rich groundwater from the Kinpoku Mountain Range. This "heavenly spring water" imparts a signature clarity and delicate texture to the "Utashiro" label. Without dismissing the tradition of "Niigata Tanrei" (crisp and dry), Utashiro boldly brings out the underlying umami through a minimalist aesthetic, redefining the "Next Generation of Niigata Tanrei" born from the unique terroir of Sado Island.
