THE story
The Story of Raifuku
Sake is a masterpiece that begins with a grain of rice and is brought to life by human hands.
Rice represents the essence of "Agriculture," while people embody the evolution of "Technology."
A bottle of sake is a work of art born from the seamless fusion of both.
Within every drop lies the narrative of the farmers who nurtured the land, and the profound passion, intent, and dedication of the brewery.
Who made it, and with what vision in mind? What ingenuity and craftsmanship were poured into its creation?
When you discover the story behind the sake, the experience gains a new dimension of depth, and the flavor truly comes to life.

Three Centuries of Tradition, Defined by a Single Focus on Quality
Raifuku Shuzo was established in 1716 (Kyoho 1) by Omi merchants who were drawn to the foothills of Mt. Tsukuba for its exceptional water quality.
The brand name "Raifuku," cherished since our founding, originates from a celebratory haiku: "Fortune shall come to the laughing hearts of those who enjoy sake, as the timeless pine stands at the gate." With the sincere wish that "good fortune arrives for every customer who sips our brew," we dedicate ourselves to the art of sake production every single day.
Driven by an obsession with premium sake rice and yeast, our management philosophy is built on "Quality First, Direct Challenge." We strive to harmonize time-honored traditions with innovative techniques to craft the new era of Raifuku sake.

In a Beautiful Land, Exquisite Sake is Born
Sake expresses its rich individuality by embracing the climate and terroir of its birthplace, infused with the passion, enthusiasm, and unwavering dedication of its creators.
At Raifuku Shuzo, we utilize approximately ten varieties of premium sake rice paired with natural flower yeasts. Our pursuit of true "Terroir" drives us to work directly with farmers through cultivation contracts, prioritizing local grains. While we currently source exceptional rice from across Japan, our vision for the future is to increase the ratio of locally grown rice even further.
To fully understand the potential of every grain, we perform all polishing in-house and cultivate our own yeast strains. Superior rice creates superior Koji, and when harmonized with the perfect yeast, a Raifuku masterpiece is complete.
