Asahi-Shuzo Sake Brewing Co., Ltd.
Asahi Shuzo (朝日酒造), founded in 1830, is located in Asahi, Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture.
Aoshima-Shuzo
Located in Fujieda City (藤枝市), Shizuoka Prefecture, Aoshima Shuzo was founded in 1868.
Akashi Sake
Situated in a scenic area overlooking the Akashi Strait (明石海峡), the brewery has developed alongside the historic port town of Akashi.
Daishinsyu-Shuzo
The brewery is surrounded by the Northern Japanese Alps (北アルプス), using locally grown rice and snowmelt from the Alps as their brewing water.
Gensaka-Shuzo
The brewery was founded at its current location during the late Edo period, around the time when Ino Tadataka (伊能忠敬) began his national survey.
Hakkai Jozo
The brewery draws inspiration from the rich natural environment of the Uonuma region, known for its abundant snowfall, which plays a crucial role in their brewing process.
Ibaraki-Shuzo
The brewery has been recognized as a tangible cultural property of Hyogo Prefecture, preserving the architectural style and brewing conditions that were once common in the region.
Kato Kichibe Shoten
The Kato family, originally money exchangers and village heads, began sake brewing, and the current head represents the eleventh generation, continuing the family tradition.
Matsumoto-Shuzo
In 1922, they expanded their operations to Fushimi in search of high-quality groundwater, while continuing to be influenced by Kyoto’s Higashiyama culture (東山文化).
Miyasaka Jozo
The brewery is renowned for its flagship sake brand, Masumi (真澄), named after the sacred Masumi no Kagami (真澄の鏡), a treasure of Suwa Taisha (諏訪大社).
Nagai-Shuzo
Positioned near the headwaters of the Tone River (利根川), the brewery is surrounded by nature and even owns forests to ensure a stable water supply for brewing.
Saiya Shuzoten
Its flagship brand is Yukino Bosha (雪の茅舎), a name inspired by the snow-covered thatched-roof farmhouses that dot the area during winter.
Sohomare-Shuzo
The brewery’s roots trace back to a family that originally operated in Hino Town, Shiga Prefecture, during the Edo period, before relocating to Tochigi.
